O reported speech representa o discurso indireto em inglês. Utilizamos essa forma quando vamos reproduzir a fala de outra pessoa, ou seja, quando vamos reportar o que já foi dito por alguém. Portanto, é muito empregado para narrar histórias e fatos que já aconteceram.
In Spanish grammar, we use indirect speech (estilo indirecto), also reported speech, to say what another person has said. We can use their exact words with quotation marks, this is known as direct speech, or we can use indirect speech.
When we use reported or indirect speech to speak about the past, we generally change the tense of the words we say. We use reporting verbs like 'say,' 'tell,' and 'ask,' and we can introduce the reported words with the word 'that.' There are no inverted commas in this sentence. Mahima said that she had seen him.
Examples 1 Nirmal said, "There's a dog outside the window." 2 Mahima says, "What time will you be home?" 3 Supriya said, "I don't know!"
We can use their exact words with quotation marks, this is known as direct speech, or we can use indirect speech. In indirect speech, pronouns, verb conjugations and sometimes the tense is changed to reflect that we are repeating someone else’s words. Indirect speech is often introduced by a reporting verb or phrase such as ones below.
